Thanks Tooty and Carl.....I'm a hostage of the shorter daylight hours in the winter.....but you go when you can and see what's happening.....Winter gills in this transition zone of the Mid-Atlantic, which doesn't support ice fishing has been a challenge, but rewarding to overcome for a few gills......It was funny filing my report Sunday with the Striped Bass Team at the launch.......16 gills and zero Striped Bass, didn't even have a pole on board to fish them,,,They couldn't believe I wasn't chasing the beloved "Rock" fish!
jeff yor a fishing machine!
I can see that cable hanging from it's mouth!!!!!!! So much for the light line presentation!!!!!! Obviously isn't always what its cracked up to be. 1 photo worth a thousand words so they say!!!!!
Although with a delicate touch, this past weekend's fish took a bigger offering including an added live grass shrimp. No worries about a # 10 when the water warms up.....But like all fishing, folks are free to and should follow their instincts because things like water clarity also matter when making these choices. Look how heavy the mono in this photo is....
