Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Here is one view of the pond I've permission to fish. You see a tree shrouded shore, with steep banks.
THAT is where the first are, now.
Earlier in the season, the fish were on the near shore, just beyond the flooded brush.
But, now that the sun is higher and brighter each day, the fish have moved over to the shady side.
HINT: I catch most of the bigger gills and bass right at the shadow line, about 10 yards out. These "shadow lines" are worth targeting. They represent a form of 'structure' which attracts fish. This is particularly so where they form in deeper water, but with nearby shrub, grass and other cover where prey can hide. It is 6-8 feet where this line forms in the morning, and the bottom slopes right up to all that nice cover. The bigger fish hang out in the shadow, waiting for whatever has the bad luck to Strat a bit too far out.... But you gotta hit it early.... by 11am the shadow line is gone and the fish have moved to another spot.

The steep bank is getting overgrown, though . This makes access a "growing problem" with each passing day. It is bad enough that I can hardly stand on the steep bank. But I tangle in branches, brush and brambles 4 out of 10 casts...not too mention the darn bass love to hang me up in all of it.
