Got her on the Goofy Buzz Bait at 1:30 PM today. This giant actually came out of the water and struck the bait on its re-entry, with a pounding strike! 25 inches...WHAT A FISH!
25"!!! Man what a bass Jim! It would be cool to know just how old that bass is. A breaching strike on buzzbait from a 25" bass is what dreams are made of!

Bluegills have been taken in recent years, but to the best of my knowledge all the bass are released. The pond has a good year class of bass and bluegills. Bass from dinks to giants, gills from dinks to 11.5 inches. It is 14 yrs old and 2 acres in size. It is one of the most balanced ponds I have ever seen, and it apparently just evolved that way, with little or no management strategies, as the owner is not a fisherman. Despite the low-water conditions at present, the balance appears to be very good. When I find gems like this, I tend to 'leave them alone'. It had not been fished for the first 8 years of it's existence.

Do any fish get taken out of the pond to help the larger ones grow even more?
