Greg I'm a Lucky guy I basicly live on an island in the middle of the Harris Chain of Lakes ( Bassville Park look at it on Google earth ) Atlantic ocean 60 miles east, Gulf of Mexico 60 miles west and some of the Best Most Under-utialized fishing in Florida, Ocala National Forest, 15 miles north.

Leo I havent seen a Snakehead or heard of one being caught in Central or North Florida. So far their limited to south of Lake Okechobee mostly in the Miami and Hollywood canals for now.

SPRING RUN, WOW!!!!! That is my kind of FISHING HOLE!!!!!!!! In the OKLAHOMA they shoot for constant temp of 50 degrees off the bottom of the lake to support TROUT!!!!! I will swap you!!!!!!!

BEAUTIFUL FISH and GREAT LITTLE POPPER!!!! :-)

Curious! Could the bass be controlled by the snakehead fish population due to the larger ones unable to outrun the snakehead in endurance, and the smaller ones could seek shelter within structures more easily? I'm still very curious about the population density of the snakehead vs the native. I'm surprise you haven't report catching snakehead yet.

Leo, these fish came out of a spring run, the water comes out of the ground at a constant 78 degrees F year round. The water warms as it makes its way down the run but it's still much cooler than our normal waters in Florida during the summer and warmer than others in the winter. The fishing Always seems best where the waters around 80-81. Becuase there's no forage fish ( shad ) the Bass don't get very large 20" 7lb is the largest I've ever caught there. But man are they energetic they jump and pull like fish twice their size! I posted a video it should be up soon 16" Largemouth on a 4wt Flyrod FUN STUFF!!! Check it Out!

David yes thats Flyline and a yellow popper ( thats actually a Flip Flop Popper! Whole nuther thread about that ) with the exception of some of the Salt Water fishing I do I Always Fish with a Flyrod. I also almost always fish out of a Kayak, this one is my Native Ultimate 12 Olive in color, designed with a tunnel hull for stability you can actually stand up and fish out of it! But it's a slow paddler :( which is why I also own a Native Slayer 14 for big lake and salt water fishing.
