I catch thousands of gills every year on baits like this....I target Coppernose gills most often and the average fish on the Albemarle has no problem and will readily take these baits with up to (2) crickets tipped as well.......

This is just a sampling of my top warm water box......I would add Gronaw Grass Shrimp in pink and olive, #10 Silent Stingers from Tooty's collection and other colors of the splash jigs pictured on the bottom row here as real winners on the Albemarle......I truly love the Bagely's pink and white jig up top but it lacks durability and I usually go through a half dozen or so on a productive fishing trip......not made to last but thank goodness for me many of the tiers have been able to reproduce similar patterns......I weight the Hendrix Rascal on the left to get it down in the strike zone quickly.......the durable hooks that Carll used for the ones I like best stand up nicely and allow you to net the abundant predators that provide added excitement in my brackish waters.......including an 11 pound Bowfin earlier this year........
