Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Made from a recipe from snowwhite. Made with #10 shrimp hook small black bead chain eye, flash, red thread and ostrich feather. Felt good to get top the tying table hopefully more stuff to follow.

I like ostrich and emu. It gives a nice, frilly body to small critter flies. And the quills make nice tails.

Interesting these are supposed to mimic Odonata nymphs, which generally look like this:

But, they are swimmy and buggy enough to look like something yummy to a fish. And they are your typically tidy works of art. I bet something will get fooled by those.

PS Whats a shrimp hook?

Thanks Roy felt good to tie something. Had neck surgery a while back and took awhile for me to get my head working right again but it close and I'm bored so I tied a little something to sooth my quench for tying.
