I think they are silicone or PVC bands. Ive seen them in the dollar stores, too. You just tie them down at the bend and wrap them back to the head/eye end of the hook?

Do you add any finish to them, like varnish, lacquer or UV-cure resin?

Big Lots sent me a flyer and this was on it with a picture so I thought I'd try them. After going to every Big Lots in Toledo none had then. The kids make bracelets out of them. Item is

the lady sent me to Dollar Tree thats where I found.

So this is what I'm using now they seem to work OK I guess 1st time. Hope this helps you Jim. Don't know if you have a Big Lots or dollar Tree where your at if not and you want some let me know.

I was pinching the barb but didn't know about bending the hook, thanks buddy I have a few more to make up so maybe I can get them on a little smaller hook now there is a little to much hook on the ones I made I think.

BEADS ARE EASY DICK , JUST BEND THE HOOK OPEN SOME OR PINCH BARB DOWN A LITTLE AND PUT THE BEAD ON THE HOOK BUDDY........IF ya bent the hook open just bend it back shut to original form and you are in business !!!!!!

Don't know anything about trout other than they taste good. Thanks Tooty I had a problem with the beads I wanted to make them smaller but they wouldn't fit on my smaller hooks 1st time for beads for me.
