What I caught down east and way down south that I think were coppernose were a lot more washed out. You got a real pretty fish there. Almost looks like you sat on a smallmouth. ;^>

Thanks Carl.......the Coppernose colors are most distinctive during the spawn when the males display some of the most brilliant colors in a freshwater fish.........

I need a field guide. I found this one:

But no coppernose. They look really distinctive in that chart, but I have several that looked much like one in some ways and more like another in other ways and left me scratching my head.

Nice! The vivid colored ones without a distinctly blue gill or red/orange "breast" are always the hardest ones for me to get right. Is that a coppernose?
