Never knew Rock Bass were in this body of water .1st one in over 34 years fishing this lake.

I intend to comb the area on this spot in the Future Adam .Try to up my chances of targeting these cool aggressive fish .

Tinknocker , i have caught them along with Smallies in two spots I can recall and have read that they indeed compete with Smallies in the same type of habitat and structure.

cool beans ! I have a local lake I fish a lot that has a fair number of rock bass ...like Dick said they are not shy they are a pretty aggressive fish they will even hit a jitterbug at night they remind me a lot of a smallmouth ...

I catch so few .I think I have reported only three catches here since 2009 Dick ! The spots always have rock and some vegetation together.Also small bait fish were seen in the shallow vicinity that this one was using .

One thing about Rock Bass they certainly aren't shy and will zero in on your bait if they see it.

This Body of water has yielded Large mouth Bass, Chain Pickerel, Rainbow Trout , Yellow Perch, Black Crappie , Brown Bullheads , Bluegills and now Rock Bass.
