yup thanks Ken
john you can see the grooves and rubber inserts on carls pic above... that is a braid ready spool.
sorry u answered with your last line
oh thnk you , so the ridges on the spool imply braid ready ,is that it ?
same line capacity ... narrower width spool but large diameter. effertless casting... easily outdistances my other reels.
just a few short years ago if you put braid on spools that were designed for mono... eventually the whole spool of braided line would slip and rotate on the spool. the solution was to provide a base of mono that would grip the spool and this would solve the problem. since the diameter of the braid was so small... you would back fill anyway with mono.. braid ready spoools offer designs incorporated into the spool to prevent the braid from slipping on the spool surface. usually grooves cut into the spool or rubber inserts.
Ken -That Arbor series has a huge line capacity no? Less tight coils, farther cast ability ?, is that the purpose of the larger spool ? Also , what does it mean Braid ready spool? I know you like using braided line .Always like the spare spool feature . http://www.protackleoutfitters.com/fishing-reels/spinning-reels/pfl...
Ken I have a couple Arbors they are good reels but find myself keep going back the the others they a indeed smaller and that's what I like small.
i bought a handful of Pfluger trion series reels ... a step under the president model... i was really impressed with the smoothness and bail operation. i then bought an Pfluger Arbor series reel that i really love... most expensive spinning reel ive ever bought
Nice reel Carl. I have a few but probably 15 Plueger reels. Some cheepies that got me started and upgraded from there. For the money there smooth and reliable great reels.
Great reels ! Like my two ,they serve me well.
