Do you love big bluegill?
The next generation Morgan Electric Chicken caught 13 White Perch last night ..................they were pounding the jig drifting which most anglers use a moving bait to fish them anyway........

Most likely. Either the local "bucket brigade" did the stocking, or some White Perch fry got mixed in with some White Bass fry and stocked, or someone caught some bait fish, which included some White Perch fry, and they got started that way. And yes, they breed like rabbits.
That sounds right Allen .I however catch them in freshwater lakes .My home community lake, Cupsaw has or at least had a mess of the White Perch ,however a very nearby lake I also fish has none of them .I suspect Cupsaw was stocked with WPerch years ago and they populated like rabbits.
John, from what I understand, White Perch are native to the northeastern seaboard. They live in the estuaries and migrate upstream for spawning in the Spring, and to put the feedbag on in the Fall.
10 " have broad shoulders . 9-10 " or more are good eaters.I don't get them over 11" usually Tastes fine except you have to extract a red line of funky taste when filleting .Haven't eaten one in quite awhile.
...how does this species clean-up and fry compared to the b.gill?
Oh Sorry Jeffrey -I just realized you put this pic up ! Lol Thanks for thinking of me ! Did you eat these White Perch? Are you allowed to return them or does NC consider them invasive like Oklahoma?
You're in Michigan now ? The invasive's mentioned in the 2016 New Jersey Fishing Regulations Digest are: Snakeheads, Asian Swamp Eels, Oriental Weather fish and Common Carp. Also these tropicals that don't survive the winters here have been found in NJ waters ;Pacu ( ballcutter ) Tilapia,
In Jersey one can keep a limit of 25 White Perch with a 10 limit for a few exceptions.
Those fish are invasive in Oklahoma. You're not supposed to return them to the water alive. I didn't really like taking them home; a little too small for my taste. But, yes, aggressive as all get out. I was catching some last year on just about any jig I could toss out in certain areas.
Yes sir Allen nice White Perch ,AND on your bait! .Aggressive buggers for their size indeed .You keep any for the pan?
Nice!
I'm beginning to think that color scheme will catch just about anything that swims. Have you thought about targeting some saltwater species? Not sure if any of them would take it or not.
