In this particular lake there are several areas with sandy bottoms and the water is not as dark as the local rivers. That may be a factor but I'm no scientist, I just stayed at a "Holiday Inn" last night! Interestingly enough, some of the males you catch in here are stil pretty dark as you can see in the other photos.
