Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

You can see the dark water marks on the shoreline which indicates the water was down 18 inches today.

I saw water temperatures between 52 and 59 degrees yesterday in and around Tulls Bay including the Carolina side of the Northwest River. Fall crappie bite should be increasing but the Sunfish bite will slow drastically. I had several locations stay above 60 degrees until mid November in 2010 but no such luck this year. We dipped down to near freezing this morning as well.....Still been a fantastic year in our region. ><}}}}*>

All rivers in Northeast North Carolina above the Sounds dump water when we get strong Northeast winds like we had yesterday from the coastal storm that brought all the snow to the Northeast. Fishing is good when the water starts moving back in but today we still had winds out of the North above 10 knots and that held the water out. My fishing normally slowa significantly during these low water events. We're so close to sea level in these areas that the sounds don't get alot of tide change.

Is that 18 inch drop from the tides?
