Went fishing yesterday but was targeting crappie with a spoon on light tackle.  Only persuaded three crappie with the spoon.  Caught one bass on the fly rod with a bead eye dragon fly nymph before the wind got to blowing strong.  Haven't fished the newly tied scuds but have fished this pattern before and the gills approve of them.  Tied mine in a gray and orange/brown color.

Have you been able to use them yet?

Rick, those look great! I tied a few of those recently to use as a dropper fly.

I agree vince about the colors - Ive been playing around  trying to make and mix dubbing. Going to make some gray and brown and make some sow bugs as Tooty suggested- will post them  tomorrow.

Thanks for the info,Rick. I am gonna try my hand at tying some of them. I know it wouldn't "match the hatch", but I may try these in some other colors. As far as I know the ponds/lakes I fish do not have any grass shrimp, but those look like big gill candy.

GOOD LOOKING SCUDS RICK AND IF YOU put a pair of goose biots in the back whalla, YOU THEN HAVE A SOW BUG IN PINK! Should be great bugs for gills buddy.
