I'll definitely be giving these a try for ice fishing if I did nothing else I might downsize them.

John I guess you can use what ever hook you want I used the nymph hook because it has a gradual bend in it and I think it makes the presentation look more life like not like a straight hook the fly would be perfectly straight but that may not be a bad thing I just like things looking as close to natural as possible but then again what look natural to me maybe not natural to someone else. Good tying buddy.

Thanks a lot Dick .I'll see if I can find the materials or do something like it with stuff I have .At any rate 10's are good size for either Bluegills or pan sized small stream Trout !

John the hook I used was #8 Nymph hooks wet fly but determined they are just a little to big and after talking to Tooty he told me how to get the bead on smaller hooks. I made a few last night using the same hook but in a #10 I like it better. So the answer your question they are #10 nymph wet fly hook. Good luck and good tying. Need any help John let me know I'll help anyway I can.

Dick, what size and style hook you using ? I'd sure like to try making these! Nice job friend!  Tooty 's right these should work great for trout .My bro's beaded nymphs do .
