Amen on the river fishing Grayson......my favorite hands down......especially brackish water......

Nothing beats river fishing for panfish! The nymph rides point down, where I was fishing it was clear enough to maneuver around the brush and such on the river bottom.

Nice fish, and beautiful water, too! I love river fishing for panfish, but that's a pretty rare treat for a guy in San Diego :-) Years ago, I caught a bunch of bluegill in the Kern River in Bakersfield, California, and it was a really memorable experience.

Good fish and on the flyrod!

Does the nymph ride point up?
You say "dragging it across the bottom" and I picture the thing snagging on every little jump and twig down there...

Thanks guys! I caught this guy on the upper San Marcos River in the town of San Marcos, Tx. I was using a size 8 weighted hares ear dragging it across the bottom. He was in roughly 3-4 feet of water around some vegetation/broken tree limb.

That is a respectable shellcracker!

Care to divulge a few details?

Size of nymph?

Depth?

Structure/cover?

Etc.?
