Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Does anyone use these. I have 3. The first 2 I bought probably 20 years ago at the K Mart. I picked up the last one at Lunker's in Michigan 10 years ago. Never been used. They seem to last forever.

NICE TO HAVE AROUND THOUGH MIKE to think of the old days . Course I have lllllllloads of old stuff now and can't remember who I got it from or why in most cases !!!! THE RODS I have here is a different story though . All except the ones I use most often in warm weather , have a small tag on em with info of where gotten etc. IT's all written down in a big binder in my safe so I can look anything up if need be....

David, Never had a problem with rusting, but then I only used them for ice fishing, so they never got wet. However speaking of getting old and slow. I thought I had 3 of these. The other day I discovered
I have 5. And now I don't ice fish.

Mike , mmmmmmmmmmmany years ago I used these . Did have some rust problems with hooks though. Switched to Wheatly's outta England , same problem with moisture. Now I use only the plastic and foam models and they all have a Lanyard hook molded right into em . I just put a small spit ring in the hole and and hook a small snap to the lanyard line, put the whole works on over my shoulder and have enough bugs for the whole day.

You're a good man, Lucky. I'm sure you can.

I like the idea if attaching a lanyard , Mike. I need to do that

I can appreciate that McSruff.

I never lost one, but that's probably because they were always in the tray in my ice fishing box when I wasn't changing a lure. The instructions on the box tell you to attach one end of a piece of mono to the swivel and the other to a safey pin to keep from losing the box. I never did :).

Very true. I always open my jig box up and let it dry overnight after a day on the ice.

these old boxes have 1 advantage over the new ones, they have holes in them so the flies dry.waterproof and floating is great but it also seals water IN.nothing good about rust and rot
