i am currently using a strikemaster mag lite with the chipper blade. it only weighs 24 pounds and with the chipper blade is great for reopening old holes. my brother runs a new strike master with the honda 4 stroke motor two blade.  it cuts super fast and no mixing gas, only down side is it does not reopen old holes very well  if you like to fish out of a wheel or permanent shack.  i do not have any experience with any of the new electric augers that are out there, but i do use a 20 volt lithium brushless dewalt cordless drill paired with a strike master synthetic 6 inch auger for early and late ice when i travel light.

the rod is called a bullwhip from tuned up custom rods. i have always been partial to spring bobber rods for gills on ice, but this new bullwhip is pulling at my heart strings!! it has a soft tip that turns quickly into back bone and is also visually appealing as well! i can feel and visually detect the bite with the high vis tip, it will be one of my go to rods this winter for big gills
