I subscribe to the "different is better," concept.

I think color matters, especially on highly pressured fish. But, I think it's sometimes easier to trigger a reflexive strike by showing the fish something new..... A technique, a lure, a new bait....something they haven't seen before.

I also wonder if an unpressured fish is sometimes more likely to hit an "unusual" bait....they have no reason to be wary. No conditioned response due to angling pressure.

Anytime you can catch willing channel cats, it's a good day.

Psssss... Dont tell the others, but I love em'.

I liked the rainbow pattern because of the Pink.....Don't agree in all instances that color doesn't matter but sometimes results do make you scratch your head.....but with my water in the 40s I'm looking for anything that might work and the spoons cast a lot better in the high winds too....Channel Cats were killing me but Blackened Catfish is on the horizon after traditional Thanksgiving.....LOL

Kastmaster spoon (well, a sorta spoon), with a circle hook added (?). That's a rainbow color pattern on it, which are not found in your neck of the woods. Was this little brim confused, or what?? LOL

PS You do realize that this lends some validity to the notion that color doesn't matter all that much?....
