ive seen some almost come right up to me when i walk in. sometimes they come within inches of the shore which is about 3 inches deep. ive cought them in at least 5 inches of water

Thanks Dale!.....Fins always "stick out" for a couple minutes after landing the gill from what I've found....gives a person ample time to get the pic...after that the fins start to relax a bit...but if you touch the fish ,they usually flare out once again.....This bluegill in the photo here has an extra large tail fin for whatever reason......

that's a nice pic you got. how do you keep the fins out? (have you ever noticed that when you have them out on land and they're lying there and you touch them the fins move)

Thanks Tim!.....Actually it's an older red wood paddle I carved about 12 years ago....other lighter colored one(which I use the most) was carved also but carved from northern white cedar......Those 2 paddles have seen alot of miles!...lol!....and had many fish photographed on them!....
