Nice bass

Suggest powerpro line that's strong but as thin as 4 lbs test line, tip up and large shiner! Some bass over 6 lbs in Illinois every year on tip up and large shiners! Wouldn't try one or two tip up while you have rod & reel to fish for big panfish plus bonus bass!

We caught several 15 - 16 inch bass on the gill gear. This lake has bass in the 24 inch class.

Mmmmm, maybe oughta up it to at least 6 lb test!

And 2lb line makes it even more of a thrill!

Excellent catch Jim .I'm guessing 16"or bigger!

I think they fight good through the ice. This one tried to jump several times, resulting in a headache.

But seriously, the rods and lines are so small that anything over a foot seems like a giant.

Great fun!

Cool Catch Jim! Do they fight just as hard through the ice or does the cold water ware them out?

Yes, it's always a hoot to catch any bass on the jigging sticks and 2 lb line.
