Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Nice 8 inch Chin-qua-pin as they are called in Louisiana.....

Caught about a half dozen of these specimens today.....really a beautiful fish during the spawn....the colors are vibrant and the male gets very dark.......

I hear you David.....each species has it's unique place in the sunfish world........the dark spawners in the Shellcracker line look very cool.....the redear is so pronounced against that body color.......

I want to catch a big shellcracker with these distinctive colors and have him mounted as such.....they look really cool right out of the water.....

I love it when the shellcrackers are dark and the ear flap pops like this fish....
