Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

After some conversations in the past with Carl he steered me toward the TFO rod. It's a 4wt 8ft 2- piece. Intruder fly reel with quick adjuster drag. Also picked up a nail knot tool since I struggle.

BY THE WAY ; SNAKE;; WHAT TYPE OF LINE DID YOU PUT ON YOUR REEL ?   I USE;; SUPER FLY LINE;; FOUND IT TO BE A GREAT FLY LINE;; CHEAP PRICE;; BUT ACTS LIKE A HIGHER PRICE LINE..   ALSO;; I WENT TO ;; NO KNOT EYELETS;; ON THE LINE;; SAVES HAVING TO RETIE A LEADER ON THE FLY LINE !!

IM BEGINNING TO THINK I MIGHT BE A BAD INFLUENCE;; LOL !!  SNAKEBITE;; THE LENGTH OF LEADER YOU CHOOSE; IS UP TO YOU--  BUT MY OWN RULE OF THUMB;; I PULL THE FLY LINE DOWN TO THE 3RD ROD EYE FROM THE TIP;; START MY LEADER THERE;; AND GO TO THE ROD  HANDLE !!   IN THAT WAY;; WHEN I CATCH A FISH;; THE LEADER USUALLY DOES NOT RUN INTO THE RODS EYELETS'' ALSO MAKES FOR EASIER CASTING;; BETTER MANAGEMENT ; CONTROL......  I HAVE 2 TFO  RODS;; WITH PERRINE ; AUTOMATIC REELS ON THEM;;;;;;  DICK TABBERT;; COULD TELL YOU A LITTLE ABOUT PERINE REELS;; LOLOLO;; CONSIDERING;; HOW MANY HE HAS !

It's so much lighter than my other fly combo. Think I will sell it and if I really enjoy this one get another one either a 3wt or 5wt. I was assembling it last night. I made up a 7ft leader. Do you think that's good? Or should I go longer/shorter?
