Do you love big bluegill?
Air temp in the 60s cloudy and water temps in the low 50s , fall turnover has come and gone. Now is the time the panfish put the feed bags on for the long winter haul…. So I loaded up 2 drop shot rigs, I jig rod and 3 bobber rigs. I started out shallow and pretty much stayed there all day. It wasn’t a big fish day (one 13.2 in yellow perch up close to the bank) but many , many gills in the 5 to 7.5 in range. Started fishing with carls quill float and a pink gulp maggot. Got a couple hooked deep that were in my dinner slot so I kept them. Switched out to a circle hook and continued bringing them in. I kept a few for dinner.
