Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

These were the ticket Saturday. Bluegill were holding close to the bank in shallow water. Thanks Dick for a great bug. Have you ever made any small ones like this in grass hopper colors?
they would be deadly in late summer when the hoppers are everywhere.

I love and use all the flies, bugs, poppers, rascals and jigs I have gotten from the guys on this site. Dick, Carl, Tooty, Allen and Mark Stine make the finest quality lures in the country. Never had one to tear up , but I have decorated a few trees with them.

John I have memories of fishing from way back and I'm glad to share these new ones with you guys.

Dick I look forward to seeing those hoppers down the road.

My personal two favorites of Dicks patterns are these and his Ants ! The ants are favored by small stream Red Breasted Sunfish out here in NENJ/SNY.

Another fish on a Tabbert Cricket ! Thanks for posting ,it helps me recall a fine day of catching Bluegills on Tabbert Crickets an hours hike to a woodsy pond . A beautiful memory catching Gills and Bass and getting caught in a refreshing Thundershower .It was a hot day that day

Thanks for all the good words. The grasshoppers have been in my thoughts but with all that's going on here now I just haven't got to them. I have the pattern but on hold for now.
