That's funny because in Louisiana we called the red and orange spotted sunfish "Stump Perch"..............I have some good pictures of them in a discussion I posted about Red Spotted Sunfish.....
Jeffrey,
Wow that top pic is a pretty one, the bottom pic is like the ones I normaly see. Growing up down here in Florida we called them Stumpknockers, yes the more technical name is Spotted Sunfish. The one I pictured was one of the larger ones I've seen And one of the very few I've ever had hit a topwater popper!
I believe this to be a Black Spotted Sunfish Lee.....I have caught a few over the years in the coastal waters of South Carolina......
LOL, your not alone Greg I have some Largemouth Bass pics from this past weekend I'm ashamed to post, I called myself as Bluegill fishing but the bass where hungry. That spottie is the only bream I caught Saturday. Amazing at times them crazy lil Bass will hit anything from a tiny Bream bug and on up to a Bass Bug damned near their own size!
Jim, I am a WORKING ON IT!!!!!! :-)
Greg...I am hoping that you get at least a 6 or 7 inch fish sometime soon so we can post it on the big board!
Jen would be proud of you!
Lee, I will do that!!!! Although Mine have just been UNUSUALLY SMALL recently!!!!!
If you tag this fish that would be the only one I believe on BBG.com listed as spotted Sunfish that actually is one.
If yall don't mind I'll post up an unusual looking fish when I catch one, everyone else please do the same!
