Lake-Mattamuskeet-Pumphouse.......Near Swan Quarter, North Carolina
Originally built in 1911 to "vanquish" North Carolina's largest natural lake to create some of the most fertile farm land in the country.........Now the lake is a Wildlife Refuge and the winter home of millions of migratory birds, some of the largest Blue Crabs ever caught and a multitude of freshwater fish including some great crappie and bluegill fishing........
