Fishing can be good in Merchant's. I've only made it over there a couple times this season with mixed results. I did very well in early May and not so good in late July (water temps above 90). The biggest fish I have caught at Merchants is some swamp shellcrackers...

No problem Rick, it is a fun destination out in the Dismal Swamp of Northeast North Carolina. It attracts quite a few boaters that are just taking in the sights and sounds. This is a millpond similar to Richmond Mill that you read so much about on this site. Its crowded with more cypress trees but similar.
