Thanks, Jen. Im trying desperately to live up the Jeff Abney's example. LOL!
I have not taken the kayak here. First, it is a long portage to get here, and my kayak is not a lightweight. Besides, most of the creek looks like that picture. It is also very shallow in many spots, and hauling will be needed. So I haven't really bothered
There used to be trails that followed creekside, and I could walk a long way, fishing the holes. But over the years the trails have grown over so that hiking is nearly impossible.
The truth is I have never caught but a few fish in this creek, all small ones. I go here mostly because it is close to the house.
You must have truly great navigation skill with the kayak to brave the creek. I'll be way too clumsy to go through that creek.
This is typical for me, Jim. These are the places I have available. There arent any large, open bodies of water anywhere really close to me - at least not that I have access to.
So when I want to wet a line close to home, its the Widow Maker for me. On the plus side, you get good at casting!
