These perch were killing the drifted jigs.....anglers catch thousands upon thousands of these every year....a local favorite on the Albemarle......

Most  anglers here use a beetle spin or cricket spin........

They are aggressive for sure and will   oftentimes rundown  a speedier retreive than Crappie and Bluegills will chase .

Yes John, these perch are strong, particularly on a light tackle set up and they travel in large schools which most often translates to aggressive behavior......
