Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

20140917—cold front day so I thought I would do a little mapping on wixom lake just to get out in the boat. At the last minute I decided to take a few fishing rods with me. Ya never know. I never really do well on cold front days especially in the fall and spring. Spent a little time fishing even after scanning a large area of the lake would prove to be a negative day. No active schools. A lot of suspended fish. Only real action was a 8 inch class caught while dipping a drop shot rig with Gulp pink maggot vertically in weed pockets. But this afternoon was not a loss. I spent the most part investigating the lake bottom and recording it. I now believe you don’t truly know your lake until you have done this. Running up and down the lake and around the bank contour. The new electronics available really opens your eyes.
