Nice Golden by the way.  We used to catch them on flyrods with size 14 black Gnat flies.

I've fished right next to skunks many times and I've never been sprayed.  If you walk up to them and surprise them, that's bad.  If you are just quietly fishing and they walk up to you, it's not a problem as long as you stay calm and talk to them in a low friendly voice.  Or sing, or hum. (seriously) They don't like people so as soon as they hear you, they usually just walk away.

then I guess you know about using tomato juice!!    soaking in tomato juice for awhile-- neutralizes the skunk spray smell!!

Skunk is a bad word... We've been sprayed 5 different times since last spring where these ponds are. Lots of skunks this year for some reason.
