Most of the Warmouth I catch here in North Carolina are very dark but here is one I caught in June that favors the one you caught Paul....Was the mouth on your fish the same size as this one's mouth Paul?

UNBELIEVABLE never in all my limited years have I seen one like this!  VERY pretty fish anyway !!

But yellow in color like that ...in all my years fishing Florida, lakes, ponds, canals, swamps ..never caught a fish yellow in color ...I couldn't believe my eyes when got it out of the water. ...wild

Bluegill x Warmouth maybe....mouth doesn't look as big as a true warmouth but it's hard to tell with it not open......Cool looking fish Paul

I caught it on a Jitterbee as you can see it in its mouth ....I'm thinking its some type of
Hybrid Warmouth ..the stripes on the side looks like a Warmouth ..but the head looks like a Bluegill ..wierd huh ....
