Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

After two amazing seasons in 2012 and 2013........I reluctantly rested this trophy gill destination last season......Several hundred 10" class fish and dozens of 11" coppers over the years.......really looking forward to getting back in there in 2015........some of the best dynamics in any place I fish........I will probably be in there during the April Full Moon.......

I will make that trip; just a matter of when. Early Summer is fairly likely.

I had a 100 fish morning in this spot during the May full moon with a pink on gold Gronaw Grass shrimp in 2013.......it was crazy and I even told myself it may never be better than that trip was........

No color after riding in the live well and released at the launch......

Nice egg layers are in this population too which probably aren't as important as the big males but I let her go anyway on this day........

Especially anyone that has that Navionics app... :)

I was sworn to secrecy by a couple or people in the Piedmont for a couple of local flows. They are public, but surprisingly unknown.

The best river I ever fished for trophy redbreast was the Edisto in South Carolina and I harvested fish every time I went......usually six to eight inch fish which the anglers I networked with felt was a contributing factor to catching bigger fish there every year.........
