Do you love big bluegill?
Banged Up Warrior.......
Several weeks ago the early arrivals were very clean and displayed no bloody tails......this fish had what seemed to be a significant gash but fought great and was eating so I put him back to complete his mission........

My bet is the migratory species Cormorants might have punctured this big bluegill while seeking out it's next meal.....Great Blue Heron also stab and take lots of fish and less likely an osprey which enters the water to grab fish with talons but less likely to puncture fish like this one.....
