Do you love big bluegill?
Some pretty distinct colors on these fish.......over 40 caught on the pink curly tailed jig which I allow to enter the water slowly followed by a deliberate drop to produce the waving tail action which is deadly the next two weeks.....

Yep......nice report Tooty.......I'm not as patient on my little afternoon Spring trips.....not a lot of time often just a couple hours so I plan accordingly........soon it won't be dark until after 9:00 but right now it's about 7:45 here on the east coast..........
Good question Jeffrey !!!!? Yesterday at Kent's pond I went with the intention of trying alot of baits folks had sent me on here. I did try em out , a few at least along with some of my new stuff. Thing is the only way to see what works is to try different stuff . When the fish were biting on Red & White I switched to the Blue & White , then to the pink and olive. Tried Dicks little bugs but the water was so dirty I wonder if they could even see em. Size first was the most important consideration yesterday , color was secondary. I tried some proven Jeffrey #6;s and never got a nibble , went back to the #10's and started catching again right away.
Yesterday was quite a learning experience for me and tried many things and if they didn't work in a cast or two back to the old standbys. There definately was a size preference and color also .......
She was ready to pop too.....I slid here back in so she could return to her cypress stump.......
Oh pretty crappie Jeffrey !!!!
