20150812-WIXOM LAKE- Crappie Outing

20150812 - after noticing on a previous fishing trip to the bridge the water was crystal clear. I installed an ice fishing reel with 2 pound test braid on my four and a half foot ultralight spinning rod. I brought a handful of ice Jigs and tiny plastic bodies. first cast loaded up with a nice crappie and proceeded to catch a few more after that... Nice little outing.

I am thinking about taking the boat. my wants to go but I want to make sure I take her some where were she will catch her favorite, bluegills and crappies. THANKS IF U CAN HELP

waters have been very clear lately... usually happens every year during the summer in the north country... actually i was trying to target the small to medium sized gill ive seen hanging at the weed edges. glad to see the crappie though.

Bruce ... i only tip live bait in the winter ... i never tip during the open water season... Ive always relied on the action of the bait to trigger strikes.
