Lots of high dollar/quality electronics on the market today but beginners should know that the cheapest fish finders will still work if desired......These Crappie were stacked at 14 in 18 feet of water......Used 16 foot telescopics to set the bait at the precise depth.....Fish On!

Water temps this time last year were hovering around 50 degrees as pictured and we are still in the low 50s again in late December 2014........this same hole fills up every year when temps reach 40 assuming they will.......
I think mine is one step down from the 300 Allen but it holds it's own around here.......I'm rarely in water over 20 feet deep anyway......just doesn't exist around the creeks, rivers and marshes here......It was right on today......dropped the baits down there and caught fish right away today........
I hear ya there, Jeffery! I've got an Eagle CUDA 300 on my kayak. Pretty much like your unit, if I'm not mistaken.
