No problem Sean...I do catch some quality Coppernose in a few tidal rivers in extreme Southeastern parts of Virginia........This species is not very cold tolerant but I'm not qualified to say how tolerant etc.....We have both Northern Strain and Coppernose in the Albemarle/Pamlico Estuaries and I catch 9 to 1 Coppernose in the rivers I fish......Coppernose are native to Florida but are doing great as far west as California and many pond managers are growing some monsters in the south central United States......The fish on the home page is in fact a Coppernose caught by the Southern California folks who routinely post quality catches from Lake Perris and Lake Skinner alike......
And the earflaps look a little bigger than the gills I catch. I don't think I've ever caught one of these. I think the picture on the homepage here with the jig hooked in the corner of his mouth is a coppernose. Thanks for posting this! Something new for me to hunt now
