We most often use the "chicken on a string" with a scoop net........a lot of fun especially when your friend gets bit by a crab in the process.....lol.............no we have a blast every summer catching bushel after bushel for the boiling pot and picking table.......we love everything about blue crabs round here!

Best way to catch Blue Crabs:

1 pair of panty hose (cheap)

2 rocks

2 chicken necks/backs

rope

 

Drop a rock down each leg of the hose, followed by a piece of chicken.  Tie the hose into a knot at the top, then tie the rope to the hose.  Throw the hose overboard.  You can either attach the rope to your boat, a limb, or a large float/jug (check the laws for your state).  Wait 15 minutes.  Haul in the catch.

 

The crabs for the chicken, but get there claws hung up in the panty hose, and can't get free.
