All great points Frank.......I actually get a tremendous amount of satisfaction from making a prediction and then validating it when I go fishing.........definitely guess wrong at times so you have to understand your water and make adjustments......

Slip, I'd be fishing blind without sonar. My view:

bottom contour, softness/hardness,  bait fish presence most important

A big part of fishing is finding them. Catching them is getting easier and easier once they're found.

Gotta say, I can't overemphasize finesse lures and presentations - float fishing being one of them.

Yep Frank........March and November can be the hardest months to contact and stay on the bite here as well.......mainly because of big swings in air temps and shifting winds which hurt our shallow fishing the most........Hey Slip many crappie are shallow already and the rest are closing in...........I referenced my technique on a picture of cover I added this morning........I basically cover lots of water in shallow cover until I get bit and target that area heavy for others..........I use a minnow tipped jig 90 percent of the time in this effort...............

Nice going! Did good during the week but crapped out today. Weather related?

Thanks Carl.......with ideal conditions and a later sunset.........it's hard to pass up.........wind has been blowing all week and finally started to lay after lunch today..........after a fried channel cat lunch and a short cat nap...........splashed again and guessed right on location.......completely different river/creek from this morning...........
