Good Eaters From the Creek Basin....2/1/2015
Had some real up and down temps in late January.....hit a local creek basin late this morning and still broke up skim ice on the holes.........just a few medium gills but a pretty solid speckle bite........iced a limit of 20 after running out of minnows with 37 tidal crappie landed on minnow tipped jigs...........

Joe and I started on this hole yesterday but couldn't stay anchored with (2) 15 pound bell anchors.........can't use a claw type in these waters as you will hook structure almost every time........instead we shifted to a more sheltered cove and did our work on a mixed bag..........

Hoping to tag some tidal crappie in the basins soon......probably won't get back out there until next weekend with this weekend being washed out by Jonas.........our weather has aligned very closely with conditions we had this time last year.....

Thanks Mark.......very busy at work so I have to push it on other than ideal days.......water was cold with skim ice and very stained but I inked a few to get me through another week......

Got them cleaned after work late today.......should be a tasty dinner and worth the effort.......it was mild overnight and almost sixty at lunch.......cold front went through now...........brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Thanks guys.......got to get out and get a fix at least.......glad it's February now.......just 47 days until spring....but the days are getting longer already..........things are good and getting better everyday!
