The Importance of Steady Water Levels During the Spawn….3/18/2024

This caught my eye at lunch this morning, one of my local rivers has remained at a steady level for nearly a week, very typical during the summer and extremely rare this early. The yellow circles indicate my last two fishing trips that yielded nearly a 100 fish combined….often times during the late winter/early spring we will battle cold fronts and high winds that will cause big swings in water levels and subsequently irregular fish patterns…..this is a great tool that I use daily available with internet at noaa.gov…..
