Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

John, this is for you.
A standard gold F07 (floating), with added markings.
Used a Sharpie to make the bands, and some red-orange paint to simulate fins.
Carolina rigged, bottom bumped and butt in the air.
Fish might like it.

Old Hack Carl, well... He does get results!

LOL There's always a crazy/insane scientist in all of us. I'm just one of those who don't seem to be on the chart. I'm one of the outliers: those who don't make a whole lot of sense to anyone, and completely be avoided from..

The crazy the old hack you are, the more valuable you become. Like Carl, he's a certified insane old hack. I believe we need to follow his method, and become certified ourselves.

Thanks men.
Leo, I'm thinking mad scientist will always be you.
"Crazy old hack," that more describes me.

Like ice angler recommended, add a small segment of a Berkley scented plastic, and go to town with the fishes during chilled days. Or, make your own distilled scent David. Go buck wild you mad scientist!

I'm looking for "impressions of prey," most of the time.

Look at the old lures - many look barely like the real thing.
And they catch fish.
Now look at new lures - many look exactly like the real thing.
And they catch fish.

So, here I've tried to recreate the highlights:

Long and slim
The banded sides
The orange fins

I think it hits the mark.

Reviewing underwater photos of real perch, the colors and markings are muted and indistinct.
Working from this, I went with black and orange. The black bands should stand out well, the orange is just me being thorough. I doubt the predators will notice.
