That's why I like my kayak.  I can see those snakes coming.  Haven't had one try to get aboard my yak yet, although I have seen some close by.

I've got a couple videos from last year, had some beavers come close to me.  Here's one of them:

David the flies look great! Come on down to Florida and we'll see if they work on these Florida Bream. LOL it's actually been cooler down here than most the states up north!

Don't know about where you fished Jonathan, but Silverwood Lake and Lake Perris have interesting water snakes..especially Silverwood Lake. A few had encountered them on the water, including myself. They normally come out during the early or late part of the day. Thank goodness I want on my pontoon, and not in my tube on the second encounter at Perris. First encounter was early in the day at Silverwood Lake. NOT FUN! Nearly broke my medium rod whipping that sucker away as I tried to reach for my 6" utility blade. Tricked learned: Hit the snake on the head hard enough, it will split the other direction. Hit its body, and you'll be in deep deep doo doo, until you can hit its head, hard.

California doesn't have water snakes (at least, any place I've been). I remember Leo mentioned something about snakes and his pontoon, but I've never seen any kind of snake in the water anywhere in California. If I did, I might never tube in that water again lol.

Hey Greg and all you float tubers out there: don't you worry about snakes? I wouldn't be able to see em coming unless it was an ANACONDA, RETICULATED PYTHON , or something else huge like that. Do they try to get up on the tubes to sun themselves? I belive if they got on I'd get off , HATEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE THEM PESKY CRITTERS!

Comment by DAVID L EITUTIS on July 17, 2012 at 8:17am

HEY JBplusThuy,

I do sell em, but like to send samples first so folks can try em at no risk like Leo did. I'm just getting back into making em for the summer now and in a month will have a stock up again.
