Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

These came today in the post.
On the left, handmade Americana courtesy of Keith Ritter.
To the right, a .99 cent pack of 8 nabbed from eBay.**
Keith, I really like the bamboo waggler and the corn cobbies!

** the Chinese floats are going I be useful - but they have no eye. I can add this feature, but now I know why they were a dollar! :)

Luckily they are cheap and can always dry out!

Twice in clear MinWax fast drying polyurethane. Unsealed cobs will sink overnight. Double dipped cobs floated for two weeks when I tested them.

Were they dipped in the sealer multiple times?
These will make good search floats. Often when I remain stationary to spin or fly cast over some structure, I'll keep a ball of worm, minnow or small bluegill drifting on the deep side of the spot.
These will be good for that.

Thanks for the kind words Scruffy, you have my float making time line. Cork, corn cob, galls and then bamboo and cane floats. I hope you try them all and good luck. Let me know what you think I'm always trying to tweet them.
