DEFINITELY, a FIVE STAR WORK OF ART!!!!

Comment by Greg McWilliams on July 26, 2013 at 4:36pm

IT is a WORK OF ART!!!!!!! I will just bet it is REAL SENSITIVE!!!!!!

Comment by Walt Foreman on July 26, 2013 at 4:34pm

Thanks, Greg!  Actually I haven't fished with this one - I made it for a pond client of mine.  Wood does transmit vibrations better than cork, so I would think it would help in regard to sensitivity.

Thanks, Ken and Bruce!

Tooty, I don't know what else to say other than I truly appreciate your comments - it's nice to have it appreciated.  There were times when I was working on this rod and the other one I posted photos of recently that it seemed I would never finish either one, so it's rewarding when people like them.

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL CRAFTSMANSHIP!!!!!!   Does the WOOD HANDLE TELEGRAPH the TAP on the FLY better than CORK???? I will bet you can feel every tap!!!!!!

HEY WALT, DON'T KNOW YA PERSONALLY BUT I DON'T BLOW SMOKE JUST TO PASS THE TIME.

I CAN'T GET OVER THIS WORK AND YOU are the only custom maker I've ever seen that I would buy a rod from.

Seen alot of rods over the years and built 300+ myself, YOUR WORK IS WITH OUT PEER ......... THIS HANDLE TREATMENT IS THE BEST I'VE EVER SEEN and I used to go to lots of shows to judge my own work against everyone elses ...........

I like tying flies, recently giving it an try. I'm kinda searching for an indoor, I suppose. I'm a "builder" at heart. Rods seem more my style, over fiddly little hairy bits on a hook. LOL

But, for now, I'll stick with reworking old stuff. Honestly, I prefer
to use refurbished, vintage stuff than high dollar new gear.
I've never had much money, and I won't know how to act with
some of those rods you turn out.

Most of that stuff I only bought in the last year, David, after I started having people buy rods from me here and there.  So having that equipment has enabled me to do some things I couldn't have otherwise.  Now if I can just get an actual shop one of these days...
