Ready to get back on these Crappie also....maybe later in the week as today looks like a washout in the mid Atlantic region.....

My grandfather taught me as a kid to use a regular knife.....I remember my mom being upset but he told her I would never go hungry if I learned how and I haven't missed a beat since! LOL

My dad usually pours some ice on them when he gets home from night fishing and puts the whole bucket in the refrigerator to clean the next morning. It amazes me how sometimes there are still a few live ones when we clean them. But as you say firms up the meat and makes it easier to clean. I will have to take the time to learn how to clean with a regular knife one day.

Absolutely....a little thicker and the skin is not as tough....I still use a regular filet knife but easier as you suggest Zach.......I get them ice cold and put a razor edge on a handful of knives and off we go......

I have to agree, and the tend to be easier to clean with the electric knife then BG in my opinion.
