That's whats so much fun about a river system you don't know what that next tug has in store for you. I've fished so many rivers caught so many fish but you really don't know what the next bite has in store for you. GREAT FUN.....
I've floated a couple of stretches of this river in years past...I can tell you for sure there are: Bluegill, Redbreast, Shellcracker, Flier, Dace, Common Carp, Chain Pickerel, LMB, SMB, Spotted Bass, Channel Cat, Yellow Perch, Walleye, Black Crappie, White Crappie, Striper, White Perch, Longnose Gar and Hickory Shad during their spawn. Did a float with a friend about ten years ago and we caught all of that except the Carp, Striper and Shad in one trip. Literally HUNDREDS of fish in about 8 hours. This is one of the best kept secrets in Virginia. No Trout though...not cold enough I guess
Looks like a place begging to be fished and being a river system I'm thinking lots of different fish species to say the least.
looks like Trout and Smallmouth water ! What lives there Sean ?Go get em!
I love fishing spots like that. Toss a little bait, or a small lure, up against the falls, and let it drift down, or retrieve slowly. Killer!
it's a GREAT place!! Any day now, conditions are gonna line up and I'll walk the mile or so to get down here and tear 'em up!
oh yea!! looks like a good place !!
