Do you love big bluegill?
The haze in the background is from overnight rains hitting water with surface temps above 70.....

Thanks Jim.....Doing well and thanks for asking.......
Nice looking fish Jeffrey! Hope all is well!
Thanks Jack....you know how it goes when the Dogwoods bloom........I wish you luck with the shellcrackers but I know you'll slam em' up there.........Share some pictures when you can, love those big Plymouth crackers......be careful on Roanoke, two bass boats sheared their lower ends, one guy was cruising at 55 mph when he collided with new wood in an area that was known to be clear for years.......I don't know the exact area yet or I would share.........Z19 with a one year old Mercury 200
Goof job Jeffrey. I've put the crappie rods away and began to chase the shellcrackers. Headed to Plymouth 4/14 for a couple of days.
Thanks John, part of my pledge for being a member is to provide information and answer every question I get......I've been a top contributing member on several high profile sites and people were more interested with me providing GPS coordinates to send them to the exact locations.....I shared hours of valuable information for brand new anglers and experienced alike.....I too seek to learn from every member.......Because of that, I suspended my membership with most other locations....Although this is Bigbluegill.com I often get asked to share pictures and information on all species.......I wish I had my first thirty years catalogued like I do the last twenty........If I help one angler , it's worth it.....Not only are we a small group, we follow proper angler etiquette.....I'm still a Blue Collar angler with a little more disposable income....I loved my days bank fishing with both of my grandparents.......Thanks again John......
Good report with details Jeff!
Thanks John, it's humbling to have success like this on public waters........so many people fish for largemouth bass and saltwater species........panfish remain untouched.......it was funny, we went in my boat yesterday and my coangler wanted to try somewhere else but a few minutes after we arrived to spice island, he thanked me for ignoring his request. LOL.....overnight rains cooled surface temps by upwards of six degrees but it was still 66 which I see as magical in my region, Heavy pollen washed in to the water so shallow crappie and largemouth were rising on insects all around us........we were easily going to top 100 crappie on this trip when my control cable snapped on my trolling motor, we drifted over a flat for a dozen more but called it early so I could reach my mechanic before his noon closing on Saturday. He should get me back on the water before next weekend........
Excellent Jeff!
Thanks Troy! You wait all winter for fishing like this to return.......
Wow, very nice fish!
